How do I measure my stump for an estimate?

Measure the widest part of the stump at ground level, including the root flare.
Accurate measurements are essential for estimating both the cost and the time required for your stump grinding. If the measurement is significantly off, we may need to requote or reschedule your service to ensure we allocate the right time and equipment for the job.

Yes, we can grind exposed surface roots as part of your stump grinding service.
Grinding roots helps smooth the ground and prevents mower damage. Just mention it when you request your estimate so we can include it in the quote.

Our main stump grinder fits through a 36-inch gate or opening.
If your space is tighter, we have a smaller machine for limited access areas — it’s slower but gets the job done when needed.

We grind stumps 8–12 inches below ground level on average.
That’s deep enough to remove the root crown and prepare the area for replanting, soil, or sod.

Our tracked stump grinder is designed to minimize lawn damage and surface impact.
We lay down plywood sheets to protect your grass while moving the grinder into place and use a chip deflection screen to keep woodchips away from vehicles, windows, and neighbours. Safety and lawn preservation are part of the job. The woodchips stay on-site after grinding — contained neatly where the stump was.

We leave the mulch (wood chips) on-site after stump grinding.
The leftover chips help fill the hole and make great natural material for garden beds or ground cover. Removing it requires extra equipment and a separate trip, so most homeowners keep it — and their gardens thank them for it.

Each stump grinding estimate includes professional stump grinding, utility locates, fuel, insurance, and cleanup of surface debris.
Woodchips are left on-site and neatly piled to help fill the hole after grinding. Chip removal is not included, as it requires separate equipment and additional cost. There are no hidden fees or rental add-ons — just clear, professional service and accurate pricing.

If we miss a spot, we’ll return at no additional charge.
We guarantee that every stump included in your original stump grinding estimate will be fully ground — typically 8–12 inches below grade. If any part of a listed stump remains, we’ll come back and complete the job at no cost. Our goal is for you to feel confident in both the service and the results.
