Brush Chipping
Affordable Brush Chipping services

Residential brush Chipping Services
We come to your home with our 6″ commercial grade chipper and chip up your brush piles. Our brush chipper can chip branches of up to 6″ in diameter. Any larger logs or branches we can usually arrange to take away for you as well. As the homeowner, you may choose to keep the wood chips for use on your gardens, trails or in your compost, or have us haul them away. Our brush chipper is hydraulically fed and can chip through branches much faster than a small garden chipper. Typically, we can chip through approximately 20-30 cubic yards of freshly cut, properly prepped branches in about an hour. That’s about equivalent to the exterior size of 2 minivans! Check out our brush chipping FAQs for more info.
Our primary service area includes most of Halton Region (Milton, Acton, Georgetown, Oakville and Burlington) and some surrounding areas including parts of Guelph, Brampton and Mississauga. However, we do service areas outside of our primary service area for an additional travel fee. See our primary service area here or contact us to check if we service your area. Chip It Guy is fully insured.

branch pile preparation suggestions
If your brush piles have been prepared well for chipping, it will allow us to be in and out of your property quickly – saving us time, and saving you money. If we are collecting scattered branches, dragging branches to the chipper location, or sifting through materials that can’t be chipped, the process will be slower. Following the preparation tips below will help the chipping process to be as quick as possible.
- Ensure your pile consists of JUST branches
Keep your piles clear of dirt, grass, rocks, metal, root balls or other items that can’t be put through the chipper.
- pile the branches with the cut ends going all one way
Branches are fed through the chipper from the cut end first. Ideally, we prefer to drive the chipper up to your pile with the cut ends toward the chipper.
- Make sure your brush pile is accessible
The chipper itself is 4 feet wide and is towed behind our truck. We should be able to pull both our truck and chipper right up to your brush pile to avoid the extra time of pulling the branches to the chipper. We will not drive our truck and chipper on your lawn or other surfaces that are not paved or gravelled. On rural properties, we can bring a small tractor to pull the chipper to your brush pile location ONLY if you plan on keeping the chips and only when the ground is hard enough to do so without damage.
- Keep branches long if possible
The chipper is hydraulically fed and will autofeed the length of your branches. Long branches are ideal so we advise against cutting them into smaller pieces.
- don't let your branch pile get too old
Freshly cut branches chip much faster than old branches. If the branches are REALLY old they can take much longer to chip as they are fragile and begin breaking into smaller pieces as we lift them to feed them through the chipper.
